Best Databases

Filed under: Uncategorized — Administrator @ 1:20 pm

Search a number of different databases to get the most accurate information. Here are some of the best for culinary arts topics.

  • LexisNexis Academic- The Business, Medical and News sections may all prove helpful, depending on your topic. This is a large database of newspapers, magazines, trade publications and news transcripts. For recipes or shows you have seen on television, run a search in News Transcripts.
  • Proquest - A good all-purpose database.
  • Expanded Academic ASAP - A good multi-purpose database.
  • Agricola - This National Agricultural Library database does offer information on nutrition and food safety, but this database is not full-text. You will need to search further and/or use Interlibrary Loan to secure items.
  • Your Pennsylvania public library may grant you access to some health-related databases as well. Visit your local public library site for more info.
