Campus News

  • The Keystone College Post Office will be closed today.
  • Students from local school districts will attend State Rep. Jim Wansacz’s annual Youth and Government Forum today from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. campus-wide.
  • The Bookstore will be closed today. The store will be open tomorrow, Saturday, March 14, from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. Information: Joan Diehl, ext. 8009.
  • The Student Restaurant will be open today for lunch from 11:30 a.m. until 1:30 p.m.
  • The Office of Diversity Efforts and the Diversity United Club invites the campus community to Marywood University’s Multicultural Conference on Monday, March 30, from 1 until 4 p.m. in the Latour Room, Nazareth Hall. Admission is free. The conference will feature Jane Elliott, an internationally known teacher, lecturer, and diversity trainer. RSVP by today to Luci Lopes at ext. 8258.
  • The Concerts and Lectures Series will present “A Rose By Any Other Name” by Nancy Hulse on Tuesday, March 17, at 12:30 p.m. in Evans Hall. For more information, click here.
  • Join MCASA and the Mofyah Step Team for a St. Patrick’s Day International Dinner fundraiser on Tuesday, March 17, from 5 until 7 p.m. in Evans Hall. Enjoy an Irish themed meal, performances by Mofyah and Irish dancers, and take an Irish dance lesson.   • CAB will present a glass etching session on Monday, March 16, from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. in the Giants’ Den. This hands-on event will allow students to create a personalized keepsake. Hand cut glassware, sun catchers and mugs, will be provided and students will choose from assorted stencils including letters, numbers and themed designs. Information: Alicia Woodruff, ext. 8253.
  • A U.S. Secret Service recruiter will visit the Career Development Center Resource Room, first floor of Ward Hall, on Tuesday, March 17, from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. Stop by for information on internships and jobs. Information: Marsha Gordon, ext. 8312.
  • An important reminder to all students: Be sure to complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) online at www.FAFSA.ed.gov by Keystone’s preferred deadline of April 24, 2009 for the 2009-2010 academic year. The FAFSA must be submitted by May 1, 2009 in order to be considered for state grant funding. Anyone needing help completing the FAFSA or with any other financial aid issues should contact the Financial Assistance and Planning Office, second floor of Sabiston Hall, at ext. 8134.
  • Bring your friends and join CAB to dance the night away at the St. Patrick’s Day Glow in the Dark Party on Tuesday, March 17, from 9 p.m. until midnight in the Giants’ Den. Be sure to wear St. Patrick’s Day attire and clothing that will glow in the dark. A limited number of white t-shirts will be provided to students who arrive first.   • System Maintenance Notice: Most Keystone College IT systems will be unavailable on Thursday, March 12, from 5 a.m. through 7 a.m. This outage is required in order to replace disk controller cache batteries. E-Mail, Blackboard, Web, CMDS and KC Connect will all be down. The phone system and Internet access from campus will not be impacted. Contact: helpdesk@keystone.edu.
