Improved Access to Resources from Home!

The Miller Library has improved its remote access capabilities. Beginning May 15, 2006, all Students, Faculty & Staff will be able to access more databases in an easier way thanks to EZproxy by Useful Utilities. For more information on accessing databases from home, click here.

What’s New?

  1. With the addition of the EZproxy software, previously unavailable databases like LexisNexis are now available.

  2. You don’t have to re-login in to search in another database. EZproxy cookies your browser and holds it for the session.

  3. There’s no new logon to remember. Simply use the same Username and Password that you use to logon to campus computers and email.

Give it a try and let us know what you think.

Getting a public library card.

A Pennsylvania public library card grants you access to a host of services and resources from books to music to databases, and all Keystone students are eligible for a Lackawanna County Library System (LCLS) card.

Stop by the Miller Library and fill out your application today, or make your request online. You must identify yourself as a Keystone student on the application, but the process is easy. Visit the LCLS’s online signup page. If you are a Resident student, enter your Keystone Address as your main address and then enter “Keystone College student” and your home address in the comments box. If you are a Commuter student, fill out the form using your home address and put “Keystone College student” in the comments box. The card will be mailed directly to you. Incomplete applications will not be processed.

Access the Library Databases from Home

You can now access most of the Miller Library’s databases from home! All you need is a valid Keystone ID, and PIN number and you can use Proquest, Expanded Academic ASAP and others (Access to LexisNexis is forthcoming) whenever you have an internet connection.

To access, simply visit the Library’s Databases page. Find the database you wish to search and choose the Off Campus link. When prompted, enter the last five numbers of your Student or Employee ID number and your PIN. Your PIN is the last four numbers of your ID. Once you are validated, you need to re-choose the database you wish to search, but once in, you should be able to search and print as if you were on campus.

If the system does not accept your ID or PIN number, you will need to contact the Library to update your account information.
