Biology Database Trial

The Library has set up a trial to a Biology database—BIOSCIENCEnetBASE–and we are looking for feedback. Take a second to try it out and cast your vote to let us know if the database should be considered for purchase.

BIOSCIENCEnetBASE is a new collection of handbooks, reviews and research volumes from microbiologists, geneticists, biomedical engineers, health professionals and researchers.

Win Candy! Play the Halloween Whodunnit

The Library’s 3rd annual Halloweeen Whodunnit has begun. Help us solve the mystery and win your own stash of Halloween candy. We’ve got the crime scene and the murder weapn, but what famous person or character is the victim? Use your research skills to solve the mystery. Here are the clues:

  1. I attended Rollins College with Mr. Rogers (Fred Rogers).
  2. My sons names are Osgood and Elvis.
  3. I was nominated for two Academy Awards.
  4. My widow was killed on American Airlines flight 11 when it crashed into the World Trade Center on 9/11.

Database Trial - Vote by Friday, October 14th

The Library has set up a trial to an Environmental Science database—ENVIROnetBASE—and we are looking for feedback. Take a second to try it out and cast your vote to let us know if the database should be considered for purchase.

ENVIROnetBASE is a collection of more than 150 handbooks that cover properties and processes associated with the air, water, soils and biosphere. The handbooks can be searched or browsed individually or selectively. Output can be sorted by relevancy, frequency of hits, size of documents, or date.
