The Human Services class in Towanda is holding a bake sale and raffle duringTowanda’s First Friday Event scheduled for October 7 as their class project. 25% of the proceeds will go to TACO and the American Red Cross in Towanda. The remaining proceeds will be used to purchase gift cards for the Towanda Weekender students who were massively impacted by the flood from Tropical Storm Lee. The Human Services class is seeking donations of baked goods and other items to use in their raffle. Contact Towanda student Billiejo Terry at bterry@keystone.edu, or find her on facebook if you would like to contribute.Â
We welcome our counterparts from Lackawanna College to our facility. Lackawanna suffered major losses when the Susquehanna River flooded portions of Towanda along the Merrill Parkway. Their offices and classrooms on the first floor of the Progress Plaza Buidling saw about eight feet of water. We are glad we could help! (And, it has been nice to have company during the week, too!)
